Purpose
CivicVoice exists for good-faith reports about local public infrastructure and civic conditions — not personal attacks, spam, or doxxing. Every issue passes through moderation before wider visibility and official routing.
Allowed
- Accurate reports of public issues (roads, waste, lighting, water, safety hazards, and similar) with relevant evidence.
- Respectful comments and official responses on the issue timeline.
- Choosing anonymous visibility so your display name is hidden from other users while the platform retains identity for safety.
- Reporting abusive content through the in-product abuse form.
Not allowed
- Spam, scams, commercial solicitation, or automated abuse of APIs.
- Harassment, hate, threats, or content that targets private individuals.
- Doxxing or publishing private contact details, IDs, or other sensitive personal data without a lawful civic purpose.
- Misinformation intended to mislead responders or the public about an issue.
- Uploading illegal content, malware, or media that violates others' rights.
- Impersonating officials, moderators, or other users.
- Attempting to bypass authentication, rate limits, or moderation controls.
How moderation works
- Moderators may approve, reject, hold, or rewrite public text; raw submissions remain available to authorized staff for audit.
- Near-duplicate reports may be merged into one canonical community issue.
- Abuse reports capture a reason (spam, harassment, hate/threats, misinformation, privacy/doxxing, or other) plus a required explanation.
- Enforcement can include content removal, account lockout, session revoke, or role changes — logged for accountability.
